/ ABOUT
The SMACCs Summer School on Smart Cities and Communities is organized within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master on Smart Cities and Communities (www.smaccs.eu). This is a face-to-face event, organized at the University of Mons by the SMACCs consortium (University of Mons - Belgium, International Hellenic University - Greece, Universidad del Pais Vasco - Spain, Vaasan Yliopisto - Finland).
The Summer School features 2 technical visits (organized by our partners RESOLIA and IDEA), 1 keynote, a joint academic event with the ALEXANDER (Accelerating Low voltagE fleXibility pArticipation iN a griD safE manner) research project funded by SPF Economie and involving UMONS, 4 seminars given by SMACCs teachers/researchers, a Climate Fresk, a Poster Session (Master Theses projects of SMACCs students) and social events.
Registration is mandatory (see here). Deadline for registration is the 20th of June 2025.
Participation to all the activities of the Summer School is free of charge for SMACCs students, SMACCs academic staff and speakers. Other participants may attend freely the seminars of the 3rd and 4th July, the ALEXANDER Academic Event and the Climate Fresk (priority will be given to SMACCs students in case of overcapacity for the latter), but a fee will be asked for participating to lunches, gala dinner, technical visits and social events. Interested people shall contact smaccs@umons.ac.be to receive information on the fees and on the payment procedure.
All participants (SMACCs students/staff, speakers, and non-SMACCs participants) shall register online to encode their preferences !

The Summer School will be held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Mons, rue de Houdain 9, B-7000 Mons, Belgium (Auditorium 12, first floor).
The building is at a 15min walk from the Mons train station. Free parking (without reservation) is possible at rue de l'Epargne 53 (15min walk). The closest paying parking is located at rue de la Halle, 5 (Parking de la Halle), 100m from the venue building.
